Emergency First Responder
This one day CPR and First Aid course teaches you how to help others in need and deal with life threatening emergencies possible in every day situation at home, work or in public. You will receive your own EFR manual and learn to build your confidence and skills through a combination of knowledge developments, skills practice and realistic scenarios both through audio visual aids (DVD) as well as role play with other students on the course.
The primary care includes scene assessment, use of barriers, primary assessment, rescue breathing (kiss of life), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, serious bleeding, shock and spinal injury management
Secondary Care covers non-immediate life threatening situations (illnesses, injuries, bandaging and splinting for dislocations and fractures.) again with knowledge developments, skills practice and scenarios.
Prebooking is required, no diving qualification or experience necessary.

Emergency First Responder - Refresher Course
This is a half day refresher course for those whose qualification (including those from other training organisations) is about to run out. First aid courses normally remain valid for 24 months, and the refresher course should be done within this 24 month period, so ideally in your last couple of months before it expires.

Courses are normally held in The Aquaventures Centre but can of course also be hosted in your school, club, home or other suitable facility. Do give us a call to discuss this with you beforehand. The timetable can be organised to suit you, either a full day, half days or evening hours.
Accreditation
The Emergency First Aid Response courses follow emergency considerations and protocols from the consensus view of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). ILCOR is an international standards group representing many of the world's major resuscitation organisations. A source authority for the development of content material in the Emergency First Response program is 2005 International Consensus in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science With Treatment Recommendations, Resuscitation, Vol 67 (2005) 157-342.
